What is romantic?

Long-stemmed red roses, Moonlight Sonata playing in the background, a look of longing in your lover's eyes: all these things are romantic.

But as we write our stories of romance, we need an endless supply of romantic thoughts and ideas. Women tend to think of romance as a feeling evoked by a person, place or thing.

The world in which we live can provide an endless supply of things we perceive as romantic: scents, foods, colors, sunsets, the sea, silk, satin, lace, and on and on.

As romance writers, what do you think is romantic? Where is the most romantic place you have ever been? What is the most romantic thing that ever happened to you? Please share your thoughts.

Being old-school the way I am, bringing a woman roses, and candy, then spend fifty bucks on dinner. Too bad our romances have gone another direction in our society. The courting of a woman is long gone.

I love the idea of the time displacement corp. I can see a lot of potential there.
